How I spent the 4th of July
July 5, 2008 0 CommentsSo yesterday was July 4th. I'm in Canada, so I don't celebrate it beyond what it is: my mother's birthday. But yesterday was different.
Because the call center I work at is contracted by an American company, it was closed yesterday. And because the people who run the center (and most of us who work there) love having fun together, we had our own Fourth of July things going on. We had a softball tournament that lasted from about 10 a.m. until about 5 or 5:30 p.m. My team won the tournament, which was awesome, because my team made it to the final game last year when we did this and lost.
It was a great day, we had a barbeque and there were some kids of the employees there running around as well.
Following that, a bunch of us went over to my manager's house for a party. We won $250 in a center wide contest and decided to have a barbeque with the money. So we went to my TM's house and ate and drank and talked from about 6 p.m. until about 11. At least 11 is when me, my boyfriend, his roommate and two of our coworkers left.
I had five glasses of Trina's punch (orange juice, vodka and gin) and I was drunk (obviously). But this morning, once I woke up, I was fine. I'm not hung over which is great. Although I am very, very sore from the softball. Oy. And I am very tired. So I guess maybe I am a little hung over, but I don't feel hung over. LOL.
So how did everybody here spend the 4th?
